Brad Williams

Owner

Brad Williams entered the tobacco business in 1975 when he and his father, Fred Williams, opened The Tobacco Leaf in Columbus, GA. After working in several locations throughout the southeast, he reconnected with his dad at F&M Cigars in Phenix City in 2013. Two years later, in 2015, Brad took ownership of F&M Cigars. Brad set about moving the direction of cigar brands the shop stocked to include not only older established names but also many of the best boutique brands that were gaining interest as the cigar smoker continued to evolve his and her tastes. Other upgrades Brad is responsible for updating the smoking lounge next door to the shop, adding a point-of-sale system, and providing other cigar-related accessories to the items available for sale.

Keith Brick

Sales and Operations Manager / CRT

Keith Brick has been enjoying cigars since 1995. What started as an occasional pleasant way to relax quickly became a hobby and a passion. Keith became immersed in the cigar industry, trying new brands as they become available, and always asking questions and getting out to cigar events to meet the people behind the scenes. Keith's obsession with cigars grew as the years passed, and his inventory at one point could have compared to what you would find in a kiosk at the mall. In 2019, Keith was allowed to join the team at F&M Cigars. That same year, Keith enrolled and graduated from Tobacconist University as a Certified Retail Tobacconist. Keith has been handling the ordering and is also integral in choosing what cigars will get the retail space for marketing. Keith still takes time to sample cigars from all over the world, and when he comes across a brand or a new line within a brand, he shares a marketing plan with Brad to add them to the inventory.

Nelson Hines

Lounge Manager / CRT

"I began working at F&M Cigars in 2012 with Fred Williams from retiree status. In a former adult life, I've become defined by over 22 years of combined service in the Marine Corps and the Navy, with university between the two. University instilled a great love of literature where I discovered well-turned metaphors could be insightful as the ocean deep. Subsequently, came the discovery of the efficacy of F&M Cigars, where I came to learn cigars enhance insight. A cigar, like great writing, is a source for calming metamorphic thought. Consider what Herman Melville wrote in Moby Dick (1851): 'For all this appalling ocean surrounds the verdant land, so in the soul of man there lies one insular Tahiti, full of peace and joy, but encompassed by the horrors of the half-known life.' Having contemplated this quote under cigar smoke, I can state a cigar is like Tahiti. So come to our lounge, buy cigars so as not to continue living a half-known life, and sail away."

I was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama and am a proud graduate of Central High School. After high school I decided to continue my education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I received a Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Radiologic Sciences and while there I became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. (Kappa Kappa Chapter). After finishing my undergraduate studies I moved to Huntsville, Alabama. And there is where my journey in the cigar culture started. My very first cigar came from a sense of nostalgia thinking about my grandfather (the late Mr. Ervin Miles). Something about the smell of him smoking a stogie on his porch and listening to the Atlanta Braves on the radio came to me and at that very moment I decided to get up and go make my first purchase . A 5 Vegus Gold from Vintage Cigar and let me be the first to say it was the WORST experience. Everything that could have been done wrong was done. Lighting with a bic lighter, inhaling, etc. I thought that may have been my first and last time but there’s no quit in me. It took me about two months to give it another try and there I was back in Vintage Cigar lounge getting tips and finally had the confidence to get it right without getting sick. After living in Huntsville for some time I relocated back to Phenix City and started visiting F&M Cigars regularly, eventually becoming a member and now a part time employee. Here at F&M I plan to learn all I can about the business and lounge operations while serving the Tri-City. So come on down, hang out a while and #PSSITA.

I am a 20-year US Army retired Health Care Specialist/Combat Medic. I have been a cigar smoker for about 10 years. I started my journey smoking cigars while I was deployed in Kuwait. I joined the F&M Cigar family as a sales associate in late 2024. I have a passion for learning more about all aspects of the different kinds of cigars, and the drive to help others learn more about cigars. My goal is to one day have my own business.
